Android: the beginning

What would you react when you hear about android?

Nowadays, people around the world automatically will explain android is refer to latest mobile communication device or smartphone. Yups, that could be correct answer since mobile technology today is conquered with this operating system almost rest of the world. Here,I try to explain briefly from the perspective of newbie what is android in general. According to Wikipedia "Android (robot), a humanoid robot or synthetic organism designed to look and act like a human". The second definition according to Wikipedia "Android (operating system), Google's mobile operating system". The explanation of two definitions are very simple and easy to understand even for newbie. First, android is defined as a robot which is designed just like human acts. Robot which is created to perform as human or in other word making robot smarter and can do what human do. Then the second definition, android is classified as the revolution on the mobile phone development. Android actually build up based on the Linux kernel and designed for mobile devices smartphones and tablets without physical keyboard also provided touchscreen for its devices. Touchscreen effect makes people get new experiences in operating mobile phone, changing the world view while using mobile phone with this feature.  Another point from android phone is the user interface, we may called this with real-world actions by using touch gestures such as swiping, tapping and pinching, to manipulate on-screen objects.


In the beginning of android development this operating system is developed by Android, Inc. Then Google bought this as  Elgin, Ben (August 17, 2005) wrote. "Google Buys Android for Its Mobile Arsenal". Bloomberg Businessweek. Bloomberg. The right decision for the future development by Google as we know today this operating system become the largest OS used by the latest mobile smartphone around the world. The journey was beginning on November 5, 2007, according to wikipedia:

based on that fact, the first smartphone based on Android platform was HTC Dream which is also known as the T-Mobile G1. This was the mother of the revolutionary mobile phone based on android until now. The phone was introduced and released in the United States and parts of Europe. The phone was built on android 1.5 (Cupcake) and could be upgraded to 1.6 (Donut), this the first android phone which has  a customization graphical user interface, integration with Google services such as Gmail, etc. a notification system that shows a list of recent messages pushed from apps, and Android Market for downloading additional apps nowadays known as Google Play Store.
